About myself

I am a creative web designer and web developer specialised in building interactive websites. I like to discover, explore and I am in my element both when I am designing and when I am overcoming the latest challenge. I aim to create websites which engage and captivate the imagination and curiosity.

I have a very keen eye for detail and can work with individual clients or graphics and engineering teams alike to design and develop websites which fit a client’s needs. I am very good at problem solving and troubleshooting and my experience in a senior support role has given me the confidence and ability to know I am able to achieve almost anything I put my mind to. I enjoy the challenge and I am continuously studying and learning new skills and fine tuning my existing ones.

Since the begining of 2010 I have been working full time as an Interactive Developer for a small company in Bristol, designing and building interactive websites and applications using a mixture of flash, actionscript, javascript, jquery, xhtml, html5, and css/css3.

My hobbies include learning new skills, playing my congas, and getting lost on foot, on bike, or occasionally in the car, in the countryside at weekends.

About this site

I've been working on a new portfolio website which uses a mixture of progressive and regressive enhancement techniques I have been studying recently. I am saying farewell to the days of fighting to make websites look the same for all browsers as some browsers ( ie Internet Explorer ) always hold everything back. Instead I've created the usual basic website for all, and progressively enhanced it for browsers which support the new html5 and css3 features. For those that don't I have added some regressive enhancement via javascript. In all cases the site should be optimised for all browsers and platforms ( mobiles included ) and should adapt itself to the browser and window it is viewed in.
